Last weekend we visited Jõgeva county. On our way to Torma Glamping we've decided to take a hike along one of numerous trails of RMK.

We've decided to make a stop at Endla Nature Reserve. There are two intercrossing trails: Männikjärve hiking trail (Männikjärve matkarada, 2,2 km) and Männikjärve bog study trail (Männikjärve raba õpperada, 7,3 km).
I highly recommend to use RMK mobile app for planning your hiking in Estonia - there is plenty of information in English, trails are described in detail, you can save trails to favourites.
The observation tower is located on the bog study trail. But, attention!, due to covid-situation the part of trail, leading from the parking lot via the lands belonging to the horse farm, is closed. I honestly had no idea, that covid is a threat to horses!
Thus, there is no point at leaving the car on the parking lot, it's better to park closer to hiking trail (see the red dot below). You can leave the car next to a flat building, there is no designated par, nor the entrance is marked in any way. The information board can be found already at the beginning of the trail itself.

For some unknown reason some boardwalk parts are closed. Hiking trail leads into the study trail - instead of going to the left, along the lake, the signposts insist you go to the right, which leads you to the study trail - the 1,3km boardwalk. So do check out on your location, otherwise instead of 2,2km hike you might end up hiking for 7,3km.
But even if you don't want to hike for 7,3 km, I insist you follow the boardwalk till the observation tower. From the 7-meter high observation tower you can see all the beauties of 210 ha bog.

In winter everything is covered in snow of course and looks like a one huge white blanket. I think visiting in summer grants better views.

There are no places for rest, except for one bench on a boardwalk. There is a BBQ and bonfire place right next to parking lot, but I don't think it's an exciting place to have lunch. Camping and making fire on trails is prohibited. Fishing is only with nature reserve manager permit.
Certainly we brought along some hot drinks in termocups together with sandwiches and buns - it's a must-have while hiking!

From Tallinn (the airport) it takes 1,5h to get here - 130 km.
